Triple win for SMART from Education Software Review Awards

SMART software receives international acclaim from ComputED Learning Center and San Diego Center for Educational Technology

CALGARY, ALBERTA --- August 23, 2006 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces that the ComputED Learning Center and the Educational Software Preview Service of the San Diego Center for Educational Technology awarded first place to three SMART software titles in their 11th Annual Education Software Review Awards (EDDIES). The winning titles include SynchronEyes® classroom management software 6.0 in the Teacher Tools: Computer Lab Instruction category, Bridgit® conferencing software 3.0 in the Teacher Tools: Teacher Productivity category and SMART Ideas® concept-mapping software 5.0 in the Post-Secondary education category.

The EDDIE awards recognize innovative and content-rich software from software publishers worldwide that provide parents and teachers alike with technology to foster educational excellence. The judging process is based on academic content, potential for broad classroom use, technical merit, subject approach and management system. In the 2005 EDDIE award competition, SMART Ideas software 4.1 won first place in the High School: Thinking Skills category, and SynchronEyes software 5.0 won first place in the Network Solutions: Computer Lab Courseware category.
